Day 3 at the RNC

On the third day of the 2016 Republican National Convention Politics FitzU members started their day off at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For a short time members had the opportunity to tour the center.

After viewing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Professor Tullio, Jonathan Spall ’18, and Ashley Stevens ’17 went to Freedom Plaza. While at Freedom Plaza, members of Politics FitzU interviewed people protesting the Westboro Baptist Church.

Professor Tullio spent most of her day filming with the 360 Hero Virtual Reality rig. Professor Tullio, Stevens, and Kelsey Parker ’20 learned to film and stitch the footage together inside the computer.

They then took the rig, or VR bouquet as Parker would like to call it, to Cleveland Public Square. Here they shot 10 minutes of 360 degree virtual reality footage of protestors. “The students are working hard and doing a great job!” says Professor Tullio.

Throughout the day, Stevens had the chance to Periscope. She live broadcasted protestors outside of the RNC on Periscope, recieving many views while doing so.
